Rock And A Hard Place
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE? I think we have all experienced this.
If you don’t read your Bible you should, simply because the comfort we need is found there.
Now please understand that you can’t just read something like,
1 Kings 11:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred [a]concubines, and his wives……………
Then go do that same thing because the rest of that verse says “and his wives turned his heart away [from God].
We must read the whole story in context, as you can see the end of that was not good. Besides all that, who would want to take care of that many women? ONE WOMAN, WIFE is plenty!!! Can I get an AMEN? And the wives say and ONE MAN, ONE HUSBAND is way enough too.
You have heard me say it many times but it is the truth, God has a way of doing things and it works. He gave us guidelines for our lives AND THEY ARE FOR OUR GOOD. Not to control us but for safety, protection and for care for us and our families. HE LOVES US!!! We must understand that when we receive Jesus, we then read the Bible as His dear children whom He loves. We read it also for comfort, peace, direction, answers and solutions.
1 Peter 2:9 Amplified Bible (AMP)
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
So when we are between a rock and a hard place let’s run to Him! Remember HE IS THE ROCK AND THE HARD PLACE IS SUBJECT TO HIM! HE IS ETERNAL AND SITUATIONS ARE TEMPORAL (meaning subject to change).
Isaiah 43:1-4 The Message (MSG)
When You’re Between a Rock and a Hard Place
43 1-4 But now, God’s Message,
the God who made you in the first place, Jacob,
the One who got you started, Israel:
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.
I’ve called your name. You’re mine.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
it won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I paid a huge price for you:
all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That’s how much you mean to me!
That’s how much I love you!
I’d sell off the whole world to get you back,
trade the creation just for you.
I HOPE YOU ARE ENCOURAGED!
GOD IS SO FOR YOU IT IS RIDICULOUS!
Blessings, Sherri
