You Are a Gracious & Merciful God

Have you ever been angry at the Lord for being nice and good to someone that you didn’t think deserved it? Wow, is that ever a loaded question! Jonah did :

When you have time, read the book of Jonah, it only has 4 chapters and it explains a lot. 

This verse is so amazing. It describes how Jonah’s reaction was not How God our Father reacts.  Jonah’s anger  and pity party didn’t work. 

God's plan is inclusive;  and it is much larger than just us. When God Dreams He Dreams Big.

Jonah 4:1-2[ “I Knew This Was Going to Happen!” ] Jonah was furious. He lost his temper. He yelled at God, “God! I knew it—when I was back home, I knew this was going to happen! That’s why I ran off to Tarshish! I knew you were sheer grace and mercy, not easily angered, rich in love, and ready at the drop of a hat to turn your plans of punishment into a program of forgiveness!

Jonah’s Anger and God’s Kindness
Jonah 4:1-2  NKJ But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. 2 So he prayed to the Lord, and said, “Ah, Lord, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. 3 Therefore now, O Lord, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!”

I think the point is that none of us deserve HIS Goodness and Mercy but I am so grateful for it and I know you are too.  He is always looking for ways to forgive.

WE SHOULD NEVER MISTAKEN OR CONFUSE PEOPLE’S REACTION TO GOD’S REACTION. 

He truly is a Good Good Father. 

When anyone repents of their sin, (repent means to stop, own it and turn and go the opposite way in the direction of life) 

He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 TPT But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God forgave all the people of Nineveh…..  That’s a win , win!! 

Aren’t you thankful He applies this to us and all who asks! 

Man, oh man is that good news. 

God is so for us it is Ridiculous!!
