Rest & Peace

Hope you all are doing great through all this craziness in our world.  But I must say that I have been hearing quite frequently that people are fearful, tired, worn out, fatigued or weary of all that is going on right now. Well, I hope I can bring some encouragement to you all today.

God is our Father and He loves His Family.  He is omnipresent, He said that He would never leave us or forsake us.  He is present always. That's a promise.

I sometimes think that we don’t know how to “REST!”

Rest is one of the most important things we must learn to do. How do we rest during this time?  I am so glad you asked.

You may not be able to rest by going on vacation, or to the lake or maybe you are not able to walk anywhere.  But I am talking about a “REST” that refreshes deeper than that.

I’m talking about a rest in your heart.  We must go through our lives from a place of peace.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

HE is our PEACE!

The next few  verses reflect how to enter into THIS KIND OF REST.

I know and believe it is crucial what we focus on and how we react to times such as these!

HOPE YOU ARE REFRESHED LIKE I AM BY THESE TRUTHS.

As you meditate on these verses write them down and place them where you can read them and refresh yourself with this truth. These are ETERNAL TRUTHS and the things going on in this world are TEMPORAL meaning they are subject to change.

Yes, watch the news occasionally but don’t rehearse it, because it creates stress and fear and it can change from day to day.

WE cannot live in fear and faith at the same time.

So let’s focus on things that bring us strength not leave us worn out.

Matthew 11:29 Simply join your life with mine. Learn my waysand you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.

Proverbs 11:25 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Let’s continue to look for ways to refresh others. Continue to love and give of your time, your kindness or whatever is needed be generous in every way and you will be refreshed.  The principle of reaping what you sow works and then everybody wins.

Proverbs 11:25 Amplified Bible (AMP) 25 The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown].

Proverbs 15:30 Eyes that focus on what is beautiful bring joy to the heart, and hearing a good report refreshes and strengthens the inner being.

Proverbs 27:9 Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence.

Matthew 11:28 Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis.

I hope you are encouraged, and refreshed by this today and that you find REST.

GOD IS SO FOR YOU IT IS RIDICULOUS!

Blessings, or Peace out!

Sherri
