The Word Of God Is Alive
I was thinking this morning about what has brought about the most good in my life and the most healthy changes in my quality of life. Have you thought about that?
I can remember setting in some of the most powerful services where you actually felt The Lord’s presence and His Word was communicated in such a tangible way that it was simply life changing.
The thing that I noticed is that The Word of God is alive and active and life changing. It changes our heart.
Jesus is the living word.
Prologue: Christ, the Eternal Word
John 1:1 (Amp) In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Deity of Jesus Christ
John 1:1 Amplified Bible (AMP) In the beginning [before all time] was the Word ([a]Christ), and the Word was with God, and [b]the Word was God Himself.
When we invite Jesus into our lives we need to have an understanding of how our lives can change for good. This is why we read the Bible, because it teaches us who we are IN HIM (CHRIST JESUS). The Word of God is a road map to life. Do you plan on getting somewhere you have never been without your GPS or an Atlas Road Map?
The Word of God will instruct us as to what creates life in every situation we face and how to handle it. We can’t change other people but we can work on ourselves to have life and it more abundantly with peace.
Hebrews 4:12 [Full Chapter] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Oh boy, I don’t know about you but my heart can use some help! It can be deceitful at times. So, if HIS WORD will discern the thoughts and the intent of my heart, I say sign me up for that!! I need all the help I can get.
As you know for many years I was a scrapper, my mouth could get me in more trouble then I can tell you about. Recently I had a situation where I could have responded out of an angry heart.
Have you ever been in a situation where you were invited to dinner or something and when you got there the person talked the whole time and never once asked you how you or your family were or even what Jesus was doing in your life. When you left there you felt disrespected and wondered what that was even about?
Truth be told, I think we all need to become better listeners! Besides, people don’t want to know what you know unless they know that you care.
So shut it and quit talkin!! Let’s remember every person is important to the Lord and we need to treat them how we want to be treated. Because people won’t always remember what you say but they always remember how you made them feel.
Well, before learning what His Word said I would have blown that situation up but my heart has changed and I truly want the peaceful fruit of righteousness to come from my heart. I just simply keep learning to let all offences go. Because that is what His Word says to do:
James 1:19 Amplified Bible (AMP) Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving];
The thing is this, we will reap what we sow and some tools or ways we have used before don’t bring about the crop we want to harvest. Let’s sow the peaceful fruits of righteousness, hold short accounts of all offences because they don’t matter much in the scheme of eternity.
I hope you are blessed and encouraged!
Blessings, Sherri
